Accompanist

Job Title:         Accompanist

 

Reports to:     Pastor

 

Position:         Part-time (per service)

 

Job Summary:  Responsible for playing the piano/organ during the Sunday worship service and other services as needed or requested.    

 

Job Qualifications:

1. Proficiency in Piano performance

2. Flexibility with different styles of worship

3. Good communication and organizational skills

4. Able to work with a variety of vocalists and guest musicians

 

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Accompany hymn and liturgies for the congregation

2. Work with pastor on selection of music, as requested

3. Help to identify and schedule guest musicians for special services

4. Notify pastor on the need for piano tuning/repair

 

Time Commitment:

1. 1 service Sunday mornings, 2-3 Sundays per month

2. 1 service Wednesday evenings, Ash Wednesday – Palm Sunday

3. Special Services including, but not limited to, Christmas Eve, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Funerals, Weddings, etc.

4. Rehearsal time with vocalists or other musicians, as needed

5. Individual rehearsal time
